The Larson Family in Israel
In 2013, for their 50th wedding anniversary, Ken and Barbara Larson traveled to Israel with their family and the dean of Bethel Seminary. There, they met up with Dr. Scott Carroll, one of the world’s leading experts on ancient manuscripts and the history of the early church.
Dr. Carroll helped the Larsons procure their first Torah scroll, which the couple then gifted to Bethel Seminary. During the dedication ceremony, Ken asked how many other seminaries had scrolls like this to study first-hand.
“They didn’t know of any others,” says Ken. “So we decided to do something about that.”
Since then, the Larsons have collaborated with Dr. Carroll to analyze and gift Torah scrolls to schools and other institutions across the country and the globe.
